The chateau has reduced the harvest yield and placed greater emphasis on selection, which has resulted in a larger proportion of the grapes being used for the second wine, Blason d'Issan. There is now a greater proportion of Merlot compared to Cabernet Sauvignon, and the wine is aged in a higher percentage of new barrels.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\n\u003cp\u003e The 40 hectares of vineyards have vines with an average age of 35 years, with some up to 65 years old. The wine undergoes temperature-controlled fermentation in steel tanks, and each of the 37 plots is vinified individually.
