The vineyards are old and share land with almond and hazelnut trees. Porrera has been recognized as a leading producer, especially after the collaboration with Josep Lluis Perez and his daughter. The cooperative was later taken over by Castillo Perelada, which has led to a resurgence for the village and its wine production.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\n \u003cp\u003eThe wine is made from 100% Carinyena from vines between 60 and 108 years old, around Porrera. The grapes are harvested by hand and fermented at temperatures of 28-30ºC, followed by a 20-day maceration. The wine is aged for 16 months on its \"lie\" in Allier oak barriques and then for 3 years in bottle. Cims de Porrera \"Classic\" presents a deep, dark color with notes of blackcurrant, liquorice, leather and white pepper. The taste is complex with mineral and spicy nuances. The wine has a good tannic structure and a fine vanilla character from the barrel aging.
