The area experiences hot summers and mild winters, with the Tramontana wind bringing coolness in the summer months. The soil here is poor in nutrients and consists of granite chips, rocks and limestone.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\n\u003cp\u003e The Clos d'Agon wines come from the Mas Gil winery, which was established by a group of Swiss friends in 1998. Danish winemaker Peter Sisseck has been part of the project as a consultant since the beginning. The wines are now classified as DOC Empordà. The white wines are based on roussanne, marsanne and viognier, while the red wines include cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon, syrah, carignan, grenache, merlot and petit verdot.
