The name \"Conteisa\" means \"dispute\" in Italian and refers to a historical conflict between Barolo and La Morra over the ownership of this land. The plot faces south and is located at an altitude of 300-380 meters, where the soil is rich in clay and limestone with elements of sand. The vines here are around 65 years old, creating ideal conditions for the Nebbiolo grape.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\n\u003cp\u003e The 2015 vintage was particularly favourable for the vineyard, as it avoided hail and benefited from optimal growing conditions: winter snow, spring rain and summer sunshine. A little rain in August and September added the necessary freshness and acidity to the grapes. Fermentation was carried out in steel tanks, followed by 24 months of maturation in wooden barrels: 18 months in small barrels and 6 months in large barrels. This was 6 months shorter than usual to preserve the fresh and aromatic character of the wine.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\n \u003cp\u003eConteisa is known for its delicate and aromatic profile, which is different from GAJA's other Barolo, Sperss. The nose offers nuances of red berries, herbs, mint and blackcurrant leaves. The palate is rich in fruit with notes of cherries, currants, plums, blackberries and a touch of licorice. When the wine is aerated in the glass, it develops further depth and a velvety texture.
