This happened in the years 1994, 1996, 1999, 2002, 2005 and 2008. The current vintage is 2012.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\n \u003cp\u003eAmarone della Valpolicella 2012 is composed of 55% Corvina and Corvinone, 30% Rondinella and 15% Cabernet S, Nebbiolo, Croatina and Sangiovese. Only the best grapes – between 15-30% – are selected for this wine. Around 10 kg of grapes are used to produce a single bottle. The grapes are dried in wooden boxes and traditional \"arele\" (reed mats). They are pressed at the end of January and after a 20-day maceration, fermentation begins, which lasts around 45 days. The wine is then aged in Slavonian oak barrels for at least 7 years, where alcoholic fermentation continues.
