This edition represents a piece of Thornæs' history, carefully selected from their warehouse of maturing whiskies.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e First Release is a Double Cask that has spent its first 13 months in new Danish oak and then up to 25 months in a bourbon barrel of white American oak.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n \u003cp\u003eThe maturation in Danish oak has taken place in small 50 litre casks, which has given the whisky a solid base with lots of toffee and warm spices, as well as a complexity with notes of pepper and mild tobacco.
