Classic gin with Colombian character

Colombian Aged Gin Ortodoxy is developed by the Dictador distillery in Cartagena, which is particularly famous for its rums. Unlike the house's "Treasure" edition, Ortodoxy is not aged in barrels, but appears as a more classic gin with freshness, complexity and a clear focus on juniper and spices. However, it is still based on sugar cane spirit instead of grain, which gives it a soft and rounded character that differs from traditional European gins.

Manufacturing

The recipe is inspired by the legendary gin that former owner Don Julio Arango y Parra developed for his own use. The base is sugar cane spirit, which is distilled with a range of carefully selected botanicals, including juniper, ginger, pepper, citrus fruits, cardamom and spices from the Caribbean. The result is a gin that combines the classic London Dry style with exotic warmth and sweetness.

Fragrance

The aroma is fresh and aromatic with a distinctive juniper profile, complemented by lemon, lime, mint and spicy undertones of cardamom and pepper.

Taste

The palate is lively, clean and complex. First you encounter juniper and citrus, then warm notes of pepper, spices and a slightly herbal minerality. The texture is round and silky due to the base of sugar cane spirit. The finish is long and fresh with a touch of spicy warmth.

Serving suggestions

Colombian Aged Gin Ortodoxy is excellent for classic cocktails such as Gin & Tonic , Negroni or Martini . It adds a twist of exotic sweetness to classic recipes. For a Gin & Tonic, we recommend a dry tonic water and a garnish of lime or green cardamom.
