Domaine Méo-Camuzet, established at the beginning of the 20th century by Etienne Camuzet, is one of the most renowned wine producers in Burgundy. The estate includes some of the most sought-after vineyards, including the best plots of the Grand Cru Clos de Vougeot. After Etienne Camuzet, the vineyards were inherited by Maria Noirot, who later bequeathed them to Jean Méo as she had no children. Jean Méo employed the famous winemaker Henri Jayer, who set a high standard for wine production. In 1985, the estate began selling the wines directly, and from 1988, Jean Méo took over responsibility for the vineyards. Since 1989, Jean-Nicolas Méo, Jean Méo's son, has managed the estate together with Christian Faurois, and they have continued to maintain and expand the ambitious goals. Domaine Méo-Camuzet remains among the leaders in Burgundy.
