Old Ballantruan Peated Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a characterful and powerful whisky from the Tomintoul distillery in Speyside – known for its gentle drams. But here the distillery has chosen a completely different path: a distinctly peat-smoked single malt that stands out significantly from the region's classic style.

This whisky is distilled from malts that have been peat-smoked to 55 ppm, giving it a distinctive smoke profile. It is aged in select oak casks, where the smoke and sweetness are allowed to meld into a complex whole.

In the glass it appears with a warm golden color. The aroma is intense and full of smoky peat, fire and ash, but behind the smoke veil you also find notes of vanilla, grain, malt, honey and spices.

The taste is full, robust and oily – at first with strong notes of peat smoke, tar and fire, then it opens with sweet malt, caramel, dark spices and a slightly nutty depth. The finish is long, warming and smoky with a light sweetness that rounds out the experience.

Old Ballantruan Peated Single Malt is a whisky for those who love smoky drams with personality – intense, yet still balanced enough to show off the elegant undertones of Speyside.
